Giving Back with Food Donations to Stone Creek Elementary
For the holiday season, the Midsouth Symphonic Band contributed 31 boxes of food to Stone Creek Elementary School students in Rossville. "We are so appreciative of the support we get from Walker County, which allows us to use Shaffner Hall as our home base", said Megan Herndon, President of the Band. "This project was a way for us to give back to the community."
Debbie Johnson, Music Librarian for the MidSouth Band, coordinated the effort. She reached out to Stone Creek Elementary School to determine their need, she assigned sections of the band to donate different foods, and she managed the packing and delivery of the food boxes. Students' families, as well as school staff, expressed their appreciation for the gift. Thank you to all who participated!
